Euthanasia-a growing debate?

In the news today, a story about a couple who both had terminal cancer, and went to the Dignitas clinic in Switzerland to commit suicide together.
The commentator said that there is a "growing demand" for a UK clinic and a change in the law.
Is there?
And as Christians, what do we say to people-and what is our Bible base for our opinions?
